Terms of Service

Last updated

These terms govern your use of Founder Feast. By creating an account, applying for membership, or attending a dinner, you agree to them. Please read carefully.

Acceptance

Founder Feast ("we", "us", "our") is operated from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. By accessing or using our website at founderfeast.com, our mobile app, or any related service (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

The Service is offered to founders, operators, and senior leaders building companies. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. Membership is by application. We reserve the right to accept, decline, or revoke membership in our sole discretion.

Your account

You are responsible for safeguarding your sign-in credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your profile current. We may verify any information you provide.

Membership & billing

Membership tiers, prices, and benefits are described on our website. By starting a paid membership you authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

  • Renewals. Paid memberships renew automatically at the start of each billing period at the then-current rate.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
  • Refunds. Membership fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may, at our discretion, offer prorated refunds for documented service outages.
  • Taxes. Prices may not include applicable taxes, which will be added at checkout where required.
  • Changes. We may change membership pricing or features with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the new terms.

Dinners & attendance

Founder Feast curates small group dinners. Restaurant and tablemate details are typically revealed 48 hours before each dinner.

  • Reservations. A confirmed RSVP is a commitment to attend. Seats are limited and rotated for the benefit of the community.
  • Cancellation window. Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the dinner are free of charge. Cancellations inside 48 hours, or no-shows, may incur a seat-replacement fee equal to the per-seat cost of the meal and may affect your standing for future dinners.
  • Meal & venue. You are responsible for the cost of your own food and drink at the restaurant unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  • Photography. We may take low-key photos at events for marketing. Tell the organizer if you prefer not to appear in any photo.
  • Health & safety. Do not attend if you are unwell. Inform the organizer of any allergies the restaurant must accommodate.

Code of conduct

Founder Feast is built on genuine, respectful conversation. By attending you agree to the following:

  • No pitching. Dinners are not a place to fundraise, sell, or recruit. Real conversation first.
  • Discretion. Treat anything shared at the table as confidential unless the speaker says otherwise.
  • Respect. No harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or unwanted advances of any kind.
  • Honest profile. Represent yourself, your role, and your company accurately.
  • No misuse of contacts. Use tablemate contact details, when shared, for personal follow-up only. No mass outreach, no adding to mailing lists, no resale.

We may suspend or remove any member who breaches these rules.

Your content

You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile information, feedback, messages). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

You represent that you have the rights to all content you submit and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.

Our intellectual property

The Service, including the Founder Feast name, logo, design, software, and content we create, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties including Stripe (payments), Firebase (authentication and storage), Resend (email), Vercel (hosting), and Apple and Google (sign-in). Their terms and privacy policies also apply when you use their features through the Service. We are not responsible for third-party services beyond our integration with them.

Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, abused the Service, or put other members at risk.

You may close your account at any time by deleting it in the app (Profile → Account → Delete account) or by emailing us. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.

Disclaimers

Please read carefully.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or any warranty arising out of course of dealing.

We do not guarantee any specific outcome from attending dinners, including business opportunities, investment, hiring, partnerships, or friendships. Tablemates are introduced based on our matching but we do not verify every statement made by members.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Founder Feast and its officers, directors, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD 100).

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Founder Feast from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these terms.

Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You and we agree that any dispute arising from these terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will let you know through the app or by email. Changes take effect when posted unless stated otherwise. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the revised terms.
