What Founder Feast is
Founder Feast is a dinner club for founders. It began in Vancouver, where dinners have run every Thursday since 2025. On Thursday, September 3, 2026, San Francisco and Los Angeles started running on the same weekly rhythm. Vancouver is the home table, and this post is about that one.
The format is small on purpose. Five hand-picked founders per table, at a restaurant we choose for you. You learn which restaurant, and who is sitting with you, 24 hours before dinner. No panels, no badges, no pitches. Just dinner.
Membership is CA$39.99 a month and covers your seat at every weekly dinner. You pay the restaurant for what you eat on the night. Cancel anytime. You apply once, and every member is vetted before they sit down. That vetting is most of the product. The matching is the rest, which is why you do not pick your own table.
How founder dinners in Vancouver run, start to finish
The loop is the same every week, and it is worth seeing the whole thing once:
- You apply once. You tell us what you are building and where you are at with it. Every application gets read, and every member is vetted before they sit down. Once you are in, you never apply again.
- You book a Thursday. Dinners run every week. Book the Thursdays you can make and skip the ones you cannot. Your membership covers your seat either way, so a missed week costs you nothing but the dinner.
- The day before, the reveal. Twenty-four hours before dinner you find out the restaurant and the four founders joining you. That is enough time to look them up and get curious, and not enough time to talk yourself out of it.
- Thursday, 7pm, dinner. You walk in, find the table, and eat. There is no agenda, no icebreaker script, and nobody from Founder Feast hovering with a clipboard. Five founders and a good meal find their own conversation.
- Friday onward, it keeps going. Your table is in the app, so following up does not depend on anyone swapping cards. Members propose coffees, runs and hikes between dinners, and those are free to join.
Why tables of five
Five is the largest group that can hold one conversation. Add a sixth and the table splits into two, and one of the halves is usually about parking. A big mixer gives you a night of short conversations that end with a card and a promise. At five, everyone hears everything, everyone speaks, and nobody spends the evening pinned in a corner holding their coat.
Five also changes what people are willing to say. Founders do not admit their real numbers, their cofounder tension or their doubt in a room full of name tags. They will say it across a table to four peers who were vetted the same way they were. That is the whole mechanism, and it is why founder dinners work where bigger formats leave you with a pocket of cards and nothing to show for them.
We choose the restaurant for the same reason we build the table. A good room, a real meal, and none of the logistics on your plate. Your only job is to show up.
Where the tables are: Mount Pleasant, Gastown, Kitsilano, Yaletown
The restaurant changes every week. Over a season the tables rotate through the neighbourhoods where Vancouver founders already spend their time: Mount Pleasant, Gastown, Kitsilano and Yaletown, with the occasional detour elsewhere when a room is worth the trip.
Mount Pleasant is where many of the city's small teams work and eat, and its rooms on and around Main Street suit a table of five well. We keep a running list of the Mount Pleasant restaurants we rate. Gastown's brick warehouses and cobblestone streets hold some of the best dining rooms in the city, and some of the most touristy, so it pays to know which Gastown restaurants founders actually use. Kitsilano gives you the west side and the beach, and a slower evening when the summer light runs late. Yaletown's restaurant blocks along Hamilton and Mainland are the busiest of the four, and a good fit when the table wants some noise around it.
You do not have to keep track of any of this. The reveal tells you where to go, and the rotation means that over a few months you eat your way across the city with people you would not have met otherwise. If you live outside the city proper, the Thursday tables are still worth the trip. It rains here for a good part of the year. You still come.
Who it is for, and who it is not
We would rather say this now than have you spend a Thursday at the wrong table.
Founder Feast is for you if:
- You are a founder, actively building. That is the bar, and it is what we vet for. Stage and sector vary by design, so a pre-revenue hardware founder can sit beside someone who has raised twice. The vetting is about whether you are really in it.
- You want peers rather than an audience. The best tables are five people comparing notes as equals. Nobody is the keynote, and nobody is the audience.
- You will actually show up. Weekly cadence is the feature. One founder dinner is a pleasant evening. A season of Thursdays is a network that knows your name.
It is probably not for you if:
- You are selling to the table. Founders can smell an agenda within minutes, and it flattens the whole evening. Selling to the table is the fastest way to not be invited back.

What happens between Thursdays
Dinner is the main event. It is also one evening a week, and the membership is built to carry the other six days.
- Coffees, runs and hikes. Members propose them between dinners, and they are free to join. A coffee is a smaller table where you buy your own cup. A run is a route and a pace, run together. A hike is a day on the trails with people you already know from a Thursday. Each one is a different way to spend time with the same vetted circle.
- Every other vetted member. The member directory and member-to-member chat live in the app, so the founder you sat with in the spring is still one message away in the fall.
- Perks kept for members. Seasonal events and special offers come up through the year, and they are for members only.
