The Main Event: Vancouver's Founder Party on July 30

Every week we seat five hand-matched founders at one of Vancouver's best restaurants. That's the core of Founder Feast, and it works precisely because it's small.

But once in a while, small isn't the point. On Thursday, July 30, we're opening the doors on something bigger: The Main Event. One night, one room, 25 hand-picked entrepreneurs and investors. Part dinner party, part mixer, with special guest speakers and great food and drink all night.

What is The Main Event?

It's not a networking event, at least not the kind you're picturing. No lanyards, no name tags, no assigned seats, no pitch competition. It's a party with substance: music, food and drink included, a few short talks from guest speakers, and a room where every single guest was vetted before they got a ticket.

The format is deliberately loose. Roam, meet, talk. Deals get done where the good nights happen, and we've built the whole evening around that idea.

Who's in the room

25 people. Founders, operators, and investors from around Vancouver, every one of them hand-picked the same way we curate our weekly dinner tables. Some are running funded startups, some are early and scrappy, some write cheques. What they have in common is that they're building, and they'd rather have one real conversation than collect fifty business cards.

That's the entire value proposition. A room where you don't have to filter.

The venue: Togetherheads Studio, Mount Pleasant

Togetherheads Studio is an artfully curated gallery space where 40 feet of glass folds open onto one of the city's best mural alleys. By day it hosts exhibitions. On July 30, it hosts you.

It sits in the middle of Mount Pleasant, the neighbourhood where Vancouver's startup scene actually eats: breweries, studios, and murals in every direction. Come early, wander the laneway, then follow the light.

Why we're doing this

We've written before about how to actually meet people in this city, and the honest answer is that most events make it hard. Too big, too transactional, too much performing.

The Main Event is our answer at a larger scale: keep the curation, lose the formality. It's the monthly flagship on top of our weekly Vancouver dinners, and it's the one night where the whole community lands in the same room instead of around separate tables.
